How we calculate this
Plastic pump bottles: 250 mL on average, 22 g of plastic plus a 13 g pump with a metal spring, bought as often as you'd use 550 mL. Propre: one 60 g aluminium bottle and 15 g pump, then a 12 g pouch per refill.
Emission factors: aluminium 7.8 kg CO₂e/kg (half primary at 15.1, half recycled at 0.52; International Aluminium Institute, 2022); plastic 2.0 kg CO₂e/kg. Equivalents from the US EPA: 0.393 kg CO₂e per mile driven, 0.0124 kg per phone charge. An estimate for comparison, not a full lifecycle assessment.

That's the point.
It's sulfate-free and built on gentle coconut-derived cleansers, made for face and body. Same pump at the sink in the morning and in the shower at night.
03Gentle enough for my face, but strong enough after the gym?
Both.
Gentle doesn't mean weak. The cleansers lift dirt, oil and sweat in a dense, creamy lather; half our reviewers bring up the lather on their own.
04Will it suit my skin?
Made for most skin types.
Including sensitive skin: no sulfates, no synthetic fragrance, plenty of plant oils. One review is even titled “Sensitive skin approved.” If your skin reacts easily, patch test first.
05With all those oils, won't it feel greasy?

Avocado oil is one of the three plant oils.
The scent comes only from essential oils. Like all citrus oils, orange naturally contains limonene, which some people react to.

I started Propre, and when you write to us, you're writing to me.
Propre started with a question I think a lot of us have asked: what's actually in this? Skin care is full of big promises on the front and long names on the back that nobody explains.
So I went looking. I chose ingredients that have been studied again and again by independent researchers, not just by the companies selling them. Then I listed every one and explained it in plain words, so you never have to take my word for it.
